How much does an architect cost in Perth?
Most Perth architects charge either a percentage of construction cost, typically 8 to 15 per cent for residential work, or a fixed fee per stage. What is the difference between an architect and a building designer in Western Australia?
Architects are registered with the Architects Board of Western Australia and the title is legally protected. Building designers are not required to hold that registration, though many are experienced and award-winning. Both can design and document a house. Each listing here states which applies.
Do I need an architect for a renovation?
Not always, but for structural changes, heritage properties or difficult sites the value shows up in approvals and buildability rather than just aesthetics. Several practices in this index specialise in alterations and additions rather than new builds.
How long does an architectural project take in Perth?
